Liverpool FC has signed striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for a record-breaking transfer fee of £125 million, potentially rising to £130 million with add-ons.

The 25-year-old Swedish international underwent a medical on Monday and inked a six-year contract. Liverpool’s initial £110 million bid was rejected earlier in August, but the club persisted and secured Isak as their top target before the transfer window closed. This transfer marks a significant move in the summer transfer saga, which also saw Newcastle acquiring other players, including Germany’s Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa from Brentford. Additionally, a separate deal to bring England defender Marc Guehi to Liverpool collapsed due to Crystal Palace’s inability to find a replacement before the deadline.
