At an Arab summits in Doha, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani condemned Israel’s recent actions, particularly a bombing in Doha that targeted Hamas leaders discussing a ceasefire proposal. He described the assault as a “treacherous” act that undermines peace efforts and accused Israel of conducting a war of extermination against Gaza. Amid escalating violence, with over 64,800 Palestinians reported killed, Sheikh Tamim emphasized that Israel’s aggression threatens regional stability and urged Arab nations to confront this expansionist agenda. He referenced the Arab Peace Initiative, proposed in 2002 for normalized relations in exchange for land withdrawal, which Israel has historically rejected. The Qatari leadership expressed determination to protect its sovereignty and criticized Israel’s lack of genuine interest in peace negotiation efforts.
